The second ingredient I will be looking into is FLAX.
One of the main ingredients in Shakeology is flax, or flax seed.
Flax seed has many different nutritional values. They are a rich source of micronutrients.
It is extremely high in soluable fibers and insoluble fibers. Soluable fibers attract water and thicken the digestion. Some Examples of soluable fibers are bananas, rice, oatmeal, quinoa, etc. Insoluble fibers are foods that do not get absorbed and dissolve in water. It passes through the digestion in as similar form as it is. Examples of insoluable fibers are vegetables, wheat bran, and whole grains.
Flax seed maintains the health of the gastrointestinal system, digestion, and colon health.
Flax is high in Omega-3s for good heart health.
It improves blood sugar levels and prevents and helps diabetes.
It helps reduce hot flashes in menopausal women.
Flax is also rich is essential oils to help healthy skin, hair, and eyes.
Flax comes in many forms, whether it be oil, seeds, meal, golden, toasted. This makes it easier to add it into your daily diet in many different ways!
Flax seed amazingly can also be used as an egg substitute. It is popular for vegans to use in baking and cooking. You can simply use 1 part flax seeds to 3 part water. Let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes and it will be a gooey substance.
No need to get flaxseeds if you are drinking Shakeology on the daily!
